This half day seminar is designed for landmen and land administrators who wish to understand the role of the Land Surveyor and the rules & regulations required to complete their work in Alberta.  Candidates don"t need any prior knowledge and this course would benefit people who coordinate surveyors or use survey plans in their day to day business.

What:

Oil and Gas Land Surveying:  An Alberta Perspective will briefly introduce land surveying, the role of the professional Land Surveyor, including areas of practice and legislation, regulation and standards that are followed,  An in depth discussion of boundaries, evidence, field surveys and survey plans will follow including a look at the Alberta Energy Regulator, ESRD, Enhanced Approval Process and Land Titles with respect to survey processes and plans.  Technology in measurement and applications will also be discussed.

Registration Fee includes beverages and snacks.

Ashley Robertson

Ashley Robertson is an Alberta Land Surveyor (ALS) and professional engineer.  Commissioned as an ALS since 2001, her experience is rooted in oil and gas activities including traditional development and oil sands exploration projects.  Ashley has also worked in municipal surveying and managed large construction projects.  She is an active member of the Alberta Land Surveyors" Association, serving on Council from April 2013 to April 2015.  Ashley started surveying in Manitoba and has worked at WSP Canada (formerly Focus Corporation) since 1997.
