Shawn Munro is co-lead of Bennett Jones' National Energy Industry Team and past co-lead of the Firm's Environmental Law and Indigenous Law practice groups. He advises and represents clients in relation to the regulatory and environmental aspects of conventional oil & gas developments and energy transformation projects including CCUS, LNG, and renewables. Shawn advises proponents on First Nations and Métis issues in relation to resource development on traditional lands, reserves, and settlements, including consultation, regulatory objections, access to lands, relationship/benefits agreements, equity participation, and compensation.
Thomas Machell is an associate in Bennett Jones' Regulatory and Environmental Group. Thomas has a general regulatory practice and assists with matters before various federal and provincial administrative tribunals, as well as Alberta Courts. Thomas previously worked as an engineer at a number of surface mines in Western Canada.
