The CALEP Energy Transition Speaker Series June 1 

Session #2:

Carbon Sequestration: Carbon Alpha will be discussing what CCUS is and how it can be applied to reach net zero. They will discuss how Western Canada is positioned to lead the advancement of carbon storage projects, review project drivers like costs and timelines and describe the regulatory landscape in the region.

Presenter:

Jenna Marttila is a professional engineer with a passion for collaborating to find creative and economic solutions. Her current role is the Director of Planning and Strategy at a dedicated carbon storage company, Carbon Alpha, which was founded in summer of 2021. Her previous experience spans multiple aspects of resource extraction in the energy sector, including reservoir, production and development engineering, with her most recent role being the Corporate Planning Manager at Jupiter Resources. She has worked in Canada and the USA and is experienced in managing large corporate budgets and multi-disciplinary teams.
