CAPL Wellness Session

June 15, 2021

Time: 12:00 - 13:00
Location: On-Line Course

Topic: Suicide Prevention

Join the CAPL and the Centre for Suicide Prevention for an important conversation.

In Canada, men have a suicide rate three times higher than women. Explore the socialization of men to be strong, stoic and self-reliant; showing emotion is a sign of weakness, as is asking for help. Men are dying in alarming numbers.  This talk will discuss how can we change this reality.  Everyone, including siblings, parents and friends, has a role in helping to prevent suicide.

The Centre for Suicide Prevention runs a Buddy Up campaign during the month of June, promoting authentic conversations, and teaching how to support a buddy if they are struggling with thoughts about suicide.  We hope you will join us for this session as we learn how to look out for a buddy and raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Speaker:         Akash Asif – External Relations Director, the Centre for Suicide Prevention

Cost:                Members Complimentary

                        Non-Members $15 (+GST)
