This seminar is intended to help land personnel understand landowner concerns regarding groundwater related issues.

What:

The seminar will cover an introduction to groundwater topics, common landowner concerns and mitigative measures, case-studies and a description of pre and post well testing directives. Specific topics will include groundwater concerns relating to oil and gas operations, coal bed methane production, seismic surveys, drilling operations, mining, pipeline excavations and road-cut excavations.

Registration Fee includes beverages and snacks.

Instructor(s):

Kelsey Hammond

Kelsey is a hydrogeologist with a focus on hydrogeological mapping, water supply and disposal, groundwater monitoring and other hydrogeological investigations. Prior to starting at Matrix, Kelsey worked for Sabretooth Energy as a junior geologist and as a gold mining exploration geologist for Amarok Resources in Northern Nevada. Kelsey has been with Matrix for 6 years and her work consists of geologic mapping using borehole logs, geophysical well logs, seismic and airborne electromagnetic survey data, assessing regional hydrodynamics and hydrochemical mapping, developing hydrogeological conceptual models and identifying potential reservoirs for water supply and disposal.  

Marilla Murray

Marilla is a hydrogeologist with a focus in surficial geology, geochemistry, and physical and contaminant hydrogeology. Marilla has been with Matrix for 10 years, primarily conducting site assessments of salt and hydrocarbon impacted sites. Marilla"s experience includes soil and groundwater assessment and monitoring, risk management, and the development of conceptual site models and site-specific regulatory guidelines.
