Professional Ethics: Theory and Application

This seminar is suitable for all interested land personnel and is required for prospective CAPL members as well as CAPL's professional certification program.

What:

This seminar is intended to increase the understanding of ethics and the dimensions to ethical behaviour by stimulating the ethical thought process, giving a basic introduction to the nuances of ethics, introducing a number of methods used in ethical decision making, and providing a forum for discussions with respect to land related ethical issues.  Case studies will encourage class discussion and give each participant insight into the morality vs legality question.

Registration Fee includes beverages and snacks.

Dr. Gary Lepine (DTh) 

Dr. Gary Lepine has been providing ethics seminars for a number of associations from the Oil & Gas sector since 2003.  In 2008 he formally began Concord Professional Development where his work expanded to include workplace environment, leadership, and organizational culture.  Gary is also co-founder of Finishing Well (www.finishingwell.ca) an organization that offers public education on advance care planning issues and living with a terminal or critical illness.  He is currently a member of the Rockyview General Hospital’s ethics committee and a board member of New Heights Learning Services, a school for alternative learning styles in Calgary.
