Vice President

I am honored to be selected as Vice President for the current electoral year. I hope that my years in the rank and variety of experience can effectively represent the cross section of members. My previous portfolios on the Board were as Membership Director (2 years), Communications Director (2 years) and Business Development Director (overlapping with Communications). Those experiences have helped to shape my thinking while providing excellent background. I feel that, after 4 years on the CAPL Board, what we do is rewarding while being important and contributing value to our members. I appreciate the efforts of my fellow board members and cherish the relationships I have developed with them.

Jim Condon and I go back a while as you tend to in this industry. I have no doubt that Jim will capably lead this organization and I look forward to assisting him in the coming year.

The primary mandate of the Vice-President includes:

• Chairman of the Office Executive Committee which is responsible for the running of the CAPL office and staff consisting of Karin Steers, Irene Krickhan and our newcomer Leanne Desbarats, led by Denise Grieve.
• Sit as a member of the Conference Committee (2012), act as the Board of Directors liaison and assist the Conference Chairman, Carla Neumeier.
• Sit as a member of the General Meetings Committee, participate in the selection of Speakers for the General Meetings and act as the Board of Directors liaison.
• Act as the Board of Directors liaison with the CAPLA Board.
